Nuclear Medicine Consulting Services


MPC places special emphasis on regulatory assistance, along with administrative and RSO support. MPC has gained an excellent reputation with the NRC and State agencies by helping our clients maintain high levels of compliance through routine inspections of radiation safety programs. The frequency of inspection depends on the size and complexity of each program. Quarterly inspections are typical; however, we are available for more frequent inspections depending on specific needs. We provide a digital / hardcopy report for each inspection, with a comprehensive summary and recommendations for correcting deficiencies. Our services include:

MPC physicists are not just regulatory experts, they also help assure the adequacy of nuclear medicine instrument QA programs. We test and calibrate radiation safety instruments and review routine QC tests. The following tests are performed:

  • Dose calibrator QC review, including linearity testing
  • Counting equipment calibration and testing
  • Survey meter annual calibration (NRC licensed)
  • Gamma camera QC review (planar, SPECT and SPECT/CT)
  • PET, PET/CT QC review

In addition, by special request, we can provide:

  • Quarterly SPECT performance and phantom testing
  • Survey meter repair and loaners
  • Consultation on facility design and equipment purchases
  • Gamma camera, SPECT, SPECT/CT, PET, PET/CT acceptance testing
  • Shielding design as necessary

ICANL Accreditation Services
MPC offers a variety of levels of service complexity for the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL) accreditation services. Our dedicated ICANL service staff, includes a former ICANL field inspector. Consultation is available to assist your staff in the form of guidance for your own in-house submission to a complete start-to-finish ICANL application service.

 

ACR Accreditation Services
MPC's American College of Radiology accreditation service includes elements within both diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine. We have historically provided this comprehensive accreditation service on a nationwide basis. Our wealth of worldwide experience and recognition in nuclear medicine camera acceptance testing has provided a very solid basis for the ACR accreditation process. Provision of initial as well as annual camera, SPECT and PET testing is offered to fill your needs.
