Walter joined MPC in 1997 and is a senior Diagnostic Radiological Physicist. He has a Master of Science in Physics from Michigan State University. In 2002, Walter was board certified in Diagnostic Radiologic Physics by the American Board of Radiology.
Walter is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the American College of Radiology, and the Michigan Radiological Society. He is an active member in the Radiological Society of North America.
Walter served as secretary treasurer of the Great Lakes Chapter of the AAPM. In 1980 he received the Talent Roster of Outstanding Minority Community College Graduates and, in 1990, the Herbert D. Graham Award for Academic Scholarship in Physics. In 1991 he received the Martin Luther King Jr – Cesar Chavez – Rosa Parks Fellowship. Walter was the developer for the Physics instruction for the SEEK program in the college of Human Medicine for Michigan State University. He was a visiting Physics Professor at Monroe Community College and Albion College
Walter enjoys teaching and currently is an instructor in the Michigan State University radiology residency program.
