MPC has a large team of experienced medical physicists to provide you with acceptance testing and routine annual inspections for all of your mammography systems. We follow nationally-recognized testing standards, as well as system-specific testing requirements. We provide the following services:

Mammography systems:

  • Unit assembly evaluation
  • Beam alignment and collimation
  • High-contrast spatial resolution
  • Tube potential (kVp) accuracy and reproducibility
  • Beam quality (HVL) verification
  • Radiation exposure reproducibility
  • Breast entrance exposure and average glandular dose
  • Automatic exposure control (AEC) performance
  • Image quality evaluation
  • Artifact evaluation
  • Screen-film, computed radiography, and digital radiography detectors
  • Stereotactic breast biopsy systems (including phantom biopsy procedure)

In addition to equipment testing, MPC will help establish and monitor your ongoing quality control program. We will also help provide materials required for accreditation testing.

Accreditation

MPC is able to provide expertise to all levels of your needs with regards to accreditation of your imaging service programs. Our professional staff includes Image Reviewers and Site Inspection specialist’s both present and past for the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL).
