Dhara Mehta joined MPC in September 2023 as a Diagnostic Medical Physicist. She has a B.S. degree in Physics from University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and a CAMPEP accredited M.S. degree in Medical Physics from East Carolina University.
In her 2nd year at ECU, Dhara tutored undergraduate students in introductory physics courses and created educational videos for the tutoring center to use for future students. Dhara is also a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine and the American College of Radiology.
In June 2023, Dhara completed her Diagnostic Imaging Residency at Medical and Radiation Physics (MARP) in San Antonio, TX. Her residency program gave her extensive hands-on experience in the equipment testing of x-ray, fluoroscopy, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, and MRI machines. She also participated in journal club presentations and created a database of resources for future residents to utilize to ease their transition into the residency program.
Dhara is one of the physicists developing the MPC Diagnostic Residency Program. She thoroughly enjoys the travelling aspect of the job and meeting new people on a daily basis. Her interactions with physicists and technologists continue to improve her understanding and communication, and she hopes to use her social butterfly skills to strengthen her experience.
