Melissa joined our MPC west office in 2022. Her expertise includes nuclear medicine and PET imaging and regulatory compliance, along with x-ray, fluoroscopy, and CT equipment testing. She received a Master’s of Radiation Health Physics from Oregon State University in 2025 and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nuclear Medicine from Weber State University in 2005.
Prior to becoming a medical physicist, she enjoyed her career as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for 18 years and gained a lot of knowledge in all areas of the field. She now provides physics support to nuclear medicine and PET imaging departments by overseeing regulatory compliance and inspections, quality control testing (including ACR), radiation protection, and training hospital staff. She also provides physics equipment testing and support in x-ray, fluoroscopy, and CT departments.
She is board certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as well as the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. She is also board certified as a Radiologic Technologist and a CT Technologist. Melissa is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the Health Physics Society, and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
